The War on Baby Girls....

I strongly believe that it is wrong to select the sex of a child, and parents should not be able to chose or have control of the babies sex. I really enjoyed the readings and was talking about the issues with my family. I must say it was a very interesting debate at the dinner table this weekend. I appreciate the country we live in and the open minds of people and scientist, but when it comes to altering genetics or choosing the sex of child, I strongly disagree and believe government should have a say in this. We are not God, and should not be given this type of control or even option. Playing around with science on humans for personal reasons, may bring consequences in the future. We still don't know if this may cause later illness or serious diseases to individuals who were created outside of a mothers womb.

Killing babies just because of the sex is evil and inhumane. It disgusts me to read or hear of people who do this just because they think its the right thing to do for the moment. No body on earth has the right to take away a humans life! Especially an innocent baby. As a mother of a beautiful four-year old princess, sickens me to my stomach of what is done to little baby princesses around the world. Just because China believes that the ratio of men and woman would be unequal and it would make it difficult for men to find a bride doesn't justify their reason. Society is changing and gay relationships are increasing every year, that mens that it the ratio shouldn't be of concern. Reproduction should be left in Gods hands because he is the only one who knows what beholds for us in the future.

Biography of Adele Goldstine

Adele Goldstine wrote the complete technical description for the first electronic digital computer, ENIAC; also known as the “Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer” which was the first general-purpose electronic computer in the 1940’s.
The 1940's was dominated by World War II. European artists and intellectuals fled to the United States from Hitler and the Holocaust, bringing new ideas created in disillusionment. War production pulled us out of the Great Depression. Women were needed to replace men who had gone off to war, and so the first great exodus of women from the home to the workplace began. Rationing affected the food we ate, the clothes we wore, the toys with which children played. But Adele had bigger plans for herself, and saw a vision for woman no one else saw.
She attended the University of Chicago and was married to Herman Goldstine, a military liaison and administrator for the construction of the ENIAC. She began her career as a mathematics teacher for the woman computers at the Moore School of Electrical Engineering. She also trained 6 of her students who were original programmers of ENIAC to perform hand calculations of the firing table trajectory.
Some of her very respected writings were the “Operators Manuel for the ENIAC “ with the help of her six students: Kay McNulty, Betty Jean Jennings (Jean Bartik), Betty Snyder, Marlyn Wescoff, Fran Bilas and Ruth Lichterman, who trained themselves to program the ENIAC using its logical and electrical block diagram. During this time, programming the machine meant moving dials and cables manually.
In 1946 Goldstine sat in on programming sessions with Bartik and Dick Clippinger to implement Clippinger's stored program modification to the ENIAC. John von Neumann was a consultant on the selection of the instruction set implemented. This solved the problem of the programmers having to unplug and replug patch cables for every program the machine was to run; instead the program was entered on the three function tables, which had previously been used only for storage of a trajectory's drag function.
ENIAC programmer Jean Bartik called Goldstine one of her three perfect partners in designing programs or logical design. They worked together to program the Taub program for the ENIAC.
Goldstine died of cancer at the age of 43, leaving behind her husband and their two children.

Video Post: Bargain Hunter

In the video: Bargain Hunter, I relate to the interest in coupons and finding the best deals for your money. As a mother of one, and single mother, I have learned how to survive on a tight budget and save as much as I could in case of an emergency. Being a full-time student and living in such an expensive era, it is important to be wise with your money and budget accordingly. I urge the importance on my family members and friends to save and use coupons when they can. Yet many of them are embarrassed of using them. I say swallow your pride and look at the investment. Saving hundreds of dollars a year, can truly make a difference in your families way of living.

Amazing Video

In Mrs. Peters video,
The young man was truly remarkable. He is strongly determined to make the world a better place with ambition to justice and prosperity for all exploited children around the world. I am strongly intrigued to know a young person who can truly make an impactful stepping stone to world justice.
